Victoria Music Corner Ensemble
As long as there are children there will be stories, there will be music and there will be games. The Victoria Music Corner Ensemble brings the very best of all three to young children and their families throughout southern Vancouver Island.
Our mission is to combine interactive storytelling with live classical music to guide young children toward community, achievement, responsibility, health, and curiosity. Music Corner currently offers three new programs based on the stories The Little Prince (based on the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry), The Carnival of the Animals (arranged from the original music by Camille Saint-Saëns) and Momotaro the Peach Boy (a Japanese folk tale set to traditional music, using Japanese instruments such as taiko drums). Each 45-minute performance gives the children plenty of ways to interact and respond to the story and music in a variety of ways, while also opening their minds to the cultures of other countries.
Looking for a Birthday party theme that's educational and a little WILD at the same time? A special version of our popular Carnival of the Animals is available for bookings. This fun theme-party includes an hour of musical storytelling with games, riddles and dancing. There's even an “instrument petting zoo” where youngsters get to try out four different orchestra instruments!
“...made the right move by inviting the room of restless toddlers to the front at the start of the show...Over the next hour the room was a zoo–literally.”

“The children were truly engaged in the retelling of Momotaro, the Peach Boy, the Carnival of the Animals and the Little Prince with musical interludes. Your costumes and interactive activities ensured that something new was happening throughout. Obviously, your group had put a great deal of thought and practice into developing a varied and highly enriching program...”
